Insurance

After careful consideration, I have made the decision not to participate in insurance plans at this time, so I am considered “out-of-network.” I ask that Clients make payment by debit/credit at the time of service. If you are interested in utilizing your insurance, I recommend that you contact your insurance company to request information about out-of-network benefits. Insurance companies vary with regard to out-of-network benefits ranging from no reimbursement to 100% of out-of-network charges. I will be able to provide you with a detailed receipt (often called a “superbill”) to submit to your insurance company. When contacting your insurance, you may want to ask the following questions:

  • What are my mental health benefits?

  • What are my out-of-network benefits for mental health?

    • Is there a deductible and, if so, what is it?

    • Is there a copay / coinsurance and, if so, what is it?

    • Is there an out-of-pocket maximum and, if so, what is it?

  • Do I need preauthorization or a referral for psychotherapy? (Services are outpatient, in an office setting if asked for more details.)

  • Are there any limits such as the number of sessions, type of sessions, or duration of sessions?

  • Are there any special requirements for telehealth?
